Preaching in a Pandemic
The Rhetoric of the Black Preaching Tradition, Volume II
A two-volume collection of 29 sermons delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic by preachers within the Black preaching tradition. Through these sermons, the editors explore how clergy addressed their congregations during the crisis, examining how COVID-19 was woven into their messages and what forms—such as womanist, prophetic, narrative, contemplative, or expository—their sermons took in a time of uncertainty. Each volume includes detailed introductions that provide context and highlight recurring themes, offering valuable insight for students and scholars of Communication and Religious Studies.
